Myths, facts, arguments, and unexpected connections. This interactive performance blurs the lines between theater, contemporary circus, stand-up comedy, and scientific lectures.
You may have wondered at some point in your life – how many pieces of this or that object is it humanly possible to juggle? Perhaps you didn’t know that the first mention of juggling was found on a 4,000-year-old mural in ancient Egypt? That Leonardo da Vinci himself was a decent juggler? That you can burn 280 calories by juggling for an hour, which is about as much as you would by playing badminton? Or that juggling has remarkable effects on the brain’s structure, and that there is a mathematical expression for juggling? Not to mention that the entire universe is a fascinating juggling trick. And what about juggling and theology? What about juggling and you?!
This new performance by Bratři v tricku takes the audience on a one-of-a-kind, engaging tour of the history of juggling as a unique physical activity and circus art. Get ready for exciting practical demonstrations, reconstructions of forgotten juggling techniques and tools, but also video clips and closer examinations.
