Circus Victius - The Victorious Circus
What is a circus like? How does a child, an adult, a veteran or a contemporary visual artist see it? The large-scale canvases of the combined painting techniques of the artist Rafan show important historical figures related to the circus as well as some well-known or forgotten circus disciplines through contemporary eyes. Rafan's imagery and style is inspired by his original profession as a tattoo artist and
references his fascination with pop art. The exhibition of works created in 2024 for the Letní Letná festival is accompanied by historical photographs and information about the themes captured by the artist Rafan – Ivo Traxmandl
